Just today I remember excerpts from childhood. So there used to be this tree I used to be really afraid of. Polyalthia longifolia. Yes, I had to look up the name for the purpose of this post. Hehehe. Thank God I didn’t know the name at the time o. Because even the name would still scare my child-version.
For the life of me, I never understood how a tree could be that flexible. And then someone decides to decorate a whole street with it? My goodness! What is wrong with these adults? I never walked close to it. I don’t know what the leaves smell like. And I never walked close to it. I wrote that twice. See?
In fact, if I ever had to choose between being chased by a masquerade or by that tree, I think I’ll choose the masquerade. And for the records, I don’t like any.
My childhood friend at the time was no help either. Her stories never allowed my over-imaginative mind to rest. In fact, if the street is lonely or nightfall is approaching and I have to pass through that route I had to constantly look behind me while half walking half running. The tree was a real scare my people. And I think it had a whistling sound whenever it was breezy.
Well, I don’t know if I’m still afraid of that tree, but I’ve never really had a chance to go close to it. We’ll keep our distance, thank you very much. After all, we don’t want grown adults giving quite a drama for curious onlookers, do we now?
Nobody should tell me it’s just a tree o. How about you? Do you remember any childhood scare? Let’s laugh
