So recently I realized that if I must handle financial obligations right, I have to make a list, long before the money comes.
Before now, that used to be a problem, making the list I mean. I was used to just settling as much bills as I could afford to before the money is out. Well, I found out that that didn’t always come through properly for me. Many times after the money is out, I found that I had forgotten to take care of very essential things. This bad habit had to stop na. I knew it. Before I’ll wake up one day and realize that money that I should have set aside for my children’s school fees has been used for shawarma.
You see, I’m not big on writing down plans, in fact, most times I write down everything else but my plans. I have nothing against it o but I just know I don’t like doing it.
However, as I grew up, I realized I have to write out my money plans, even if I don’t have other plans penned down. I even go as far as including who I’m dashing money on that list.
And even in cases like holiday-planning, I make sure the financial plan is set up and followed through accordingly. Like this holiday’s plan that consists only in sleeping and blogging. Nothing like cravings in the plan. Stop staring like that, I’m on a tight budget yo! Though i can make an exception for corn and pear. A little indulgence won’t kill me nagha.
I had to learn financial planning ni. Make I no come work like 100years for this my life and yet no get anything to show for all the work. Although I know sae na wetin my village pipo for like be that. But my God don pass them.
What about you? Do you have your income properly disbursed even without a written plan?
